Green goddess dressing is perfect for a rich and creamy dip or a fresh salad dressing. This Ina Garten green goddess dip recipe is so delicious, I had to make 2 batches. The first one didn’t make it past the photoshoot.

Salad in a bowl with green goddess dressing on it

Anything that gets my girls to eat more vegetables is always at the top of my list. Make a batch of Ina Garten green goddess salad dressing, and use it on a salad or just for dipping veggies! The girls were scraping the bowl and couldn’t get enough.

My 13-year-old has vowed to eat a salad every day for lunch if I pack a side of green goddess with it.

If you want to lighten the dressing up a bit, you can substitute low-fat sour cream for the mayonnaise.

How to Make Ina Garten Green Goddess Dressing

Start by placing the mayonnaise, scallions, basil, lemon juice, garlic, anchovy paste, salt, and pepper in a blender and blend until smooth.

Add the sour cream and process just until blended. Don’t over blend. Then put it into a dish and serve!

If you aren’t serving immediately, store the homemade goddess dressing in a covered container in the fridge. It will usually stay good for up to a week, but it’s always eaten before long!

  4. OK, what is “good mayonnaise”!?!? I guess to know that, I’ll also need to know what is BAD mayonnaise.
    Thanks!

    1. you’re right! I need to edit this to clarify. Preferably one without additional sugar. Look for one that has minimal ingredients. Primal kitchen makes a good one. I also avoid any mayonnaise made with canola oil. Cynthia

        1. right? i’m a huge label reader. Primal mayonnaise is what i use, it’s a bit pricier than Hellman’s or Best Food’s but it’s worth it to me. The ingredients in Primal mayo are avocado oil, organic eggs and yolks, vinegar, sea salt and rosemary.
