Stir fry ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon peanut oil (or avocado oil)
- 2 teaspoons minced peeled ginger
- 1 Tablespoon minced fresh garlic
- 12 ounces broccolini (or broccoli florets)
- 1 pound sirloin steak thinly sliced across the grain
- 1 bunches green onions cut into 2 inch pieces
Stir fry
Wash and cut the broccolini into 1 to 1 1/2″ pieces, and slice green onion on the diagonal. I
Thinly slice meat against the grain.
Heat peanut or avocado oil in a wok or large skillet over medium high heat until smoking or when a drop of water sizzles in pan.
Add ginger, garlic, and beef; sauté 2-3 minutes, or until beef is browned. Add broccolini; sauté 1-2 minutes.
Add sauce mixture and green onions, stirring constantly an additional 4-5 minutes, or until sauce is thickened, and broccolini is crisp tender.
If sauce gets too thick, add a splash of water or chicken broth.
Serve with rice noodles or rice.
- Substitute coconut aminos or low sodium soy sauce for the regular soy sauce.
- Make it spicier by adding more red chilli oil.
- Substitute brown sugar, honey or coconut sugar for the white sugar.
- Substitute flank steak, chicken breast or pork loin for the sirloin or skirt steak.
- Add additional vegetables: bell peppers, snow peas, mushrooms, or thinly sliced yellow onions.
- Garnish with a drizzle of sesame oil or sesame seeds.
