Honey Roasted Nuts

Honey roasted nuts have a hint of cinnamon and orange zest. These nuts are a delicious snack or a lovely addition to a holiday gift basket. Recipe from Gourmet Magazine, October, 1991. Makes 3 pounds or 2, 1/8 cup servings.

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. lightly toast the nuts for 10 minutes or until lightly golden.
  • In a large microwave-safe, large bowl toss nuts, melted butter, honey, orange zest, cinnamon and sea salt until well coated.
  • Microwave nut mixture at full-power for about 7 minutes, stirring half way through heating.
  • Pour mixture on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.  Spread nuts in a single even layer using a silicone spatula or wooden spoon. (Nuts will be hot!)
  • Allow to cool completely at room temperature Break up nut mixture.Store in an airtight container or glass jars.
