This mango margarita recipe is easy and refreshing. Frozen mango chunks mean you can enjoy this deliciously refreshing cocktail any time of year. It pairs well with spicy foods, or just on its own with bowl of chips and salsa. My Classic Margarita Recipe which uses the 3-2-1 method, is the base for this recipe and or any other fruit margarita. It makes a balanced, perfect drink whether you’re make 2 or 20. While we love a traditional margarita, there’s nothing like a frozen mango margarita on a hot summer day.
Ingredients for mango margaritas:
This mango margarita recipe uses just a few simple ingredients: 3 parts tequila, 2 parts triple sec, Grand Marnier, or orange liqueur, and 1 part fresh lime juice. Because it’s frozen, and uses a lot of ice instead of serving 3, this recipe yields closer to 5, so it’s also lower in alcohol and calories. For the best results use fresh limes. For 4-5 frozen mango margaritas, (about 8 ounces each):
- 6 ounces silver tequila (3 parts)
- 4 ounces orange liqueur (2 parts)
- 2 ounces fresh lime juice (1 part)
- 1 1/2 cups frozen mango chunks
- 2 Tablespoons simple syrup or agave syrup. However, the mangos may give it enough sweetness on their own. Sweeten to your taste.
- Kosher salt for rims of glasses
- Fresh lime slices for garnish
- Optional: lime zest or lime wedge.
I love these Margarita Glasses for indoor because they’re a modest in size, and these Margarita Glasses for poolside.
How to make mango margaritas
- Pour tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice and frozen mango chunks into a high-speed blender.
- Pulse a few times to blend mango chunks.
- Add ice cubes, and pulse until all of the ice is blended and is the right consistency. Add simple syrup to taste. Because of the sweetness of the mango, you might not need too much simple syrup.
- use a spent lime wedge to moisten the rim of a margarita glass and roll in coarse sugar or sea salt.
- Pour into prepared glasses and garnish with lime wheels, wedges or zest of lime.
Spicy Mango Jalapeño Margaritas
For a spicy mango margarita, add 1/2 minced jalapeño to blender, then pulse until blended. Rim the glasses with chile powder, and salt or sugar.

Love a fruity margarita? Use this recipe, and your favorite fruit, for a variety of frozen margaritas.
- Frozen strawberry margarita: substitute frozen strawberries for the mango. Try adding basil for a herbal strawberry margarita.
- For a tropical margarita, swap the mango for frozen pineapple chunks and substitute the orange liqueur for coconut liqueur.
